This Health and Safety policy sets out the principles and procedures that guide all work carried out by Carpet Cleaning W1S. Our aim is to provide professional carpet and upholstery cleaning while protecting the health, safety and welfare of our employees, customers, visitors and any other persons who may be affected by our activities.

General Health and Safety Responsibilities
Ultimate responsibility for health and safety within Carpet Cleaning W1S rests with the company management. Managers ensure that adequate resources are allocated for training, equipment, maintenance, personal protective equipment and risk management.
Every employee and operative has a duty to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions. Team members must cooperate with all health and safety instructions, use equipment correctly, wear appropriate protective equipment and immediately report any hazard, incident or near miss.
Risk Assessment and Safe Working Procedures

Training, Instruction and Supervision
All employees receive health and safety induction training before carrying out any cleaning work. This includes general safety rules, emergency procedures, accident reporting, manual handling techniques, hazard awareness and the specific risks associated with carpet and upholstery cleaning.
Operatives receive task specific training on the correct use of machinery such as extraction machines, vacuum cleaners, rotary machines and other tools. They are instructed on safe electrical practices, cable management and avoiding trip hazards in customer premises.

Where possible we choose low hazard products. When more powerful products are required for specific stains or contamination, additional control measures are adopted, such as enhanced ventilation, limited exposure times and use of suitable personal protective equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment
Carpet Cleaning W1S provides appropriate personal protective equipment for the tasks undertaken. This may include gloves, eye protection, respiratory protection, safety footwear and protective clothing.

Working on Customer Premises
When working in homes, offices or commercial spaces, staff must respect the property and safety of occupants and visitors. On arrival they assess the site for hazards such as trailing cables, obstructed exits, poor lighting, wet floors or fragile items.
We aim to maintain clear walkways, use warning signs where appropriate and minimise disruption. Occupants are advised of any temporarily restricted areas while cleaning is in progress. Where work is carried out in shared or busy environments, additional measures may be used, such as barriers or increased supervision.
Electrical Safety and Equipment Maintenance
All electrical equipment is inspected regularly and removed from service if any defect is suspected. Cables are routed to minimise trip hazards and are kept away from sources of water. Staff are instructed never to bypass safety devices or use damaged plugs, sockets or extensions.
